Can anyone help identify this? My Dad has had it for 70 yrs. We haven't found any mark or signature. It's 30" tall 24" wide.
    Thank you,

    Welcome!
Those in the know will want to see the other side anyway and maybe a close up so you might as well get them up. :)

    That's lovely.
Are you sure it is copper and not bronze.
    My first thought was Austria.

Well no one else has asked actually but they may not have since I did.
    So folks.....
Does anyone else who may know something of this piece need more photos?
    :)

I remember the back isn't smooth. You can see the back of the images. Just not as smooth and detailed as the front.

Sometimes there are things that are important to those in the know that we have no clue of. :)

I understand that. My grandmother dealt antiques. She got the plaque. My Dad was a teenager and liked it so she let him keep it.
    He is 82 now.
It's been hanging in their house all this time.

First off welcome to the boards!!! And, what you are describing helps in the way it was made, but to ID pieces, the more pics the better. The entire back will help, then look for ANY markings and get close ups of them. If Dad can take a clean shot of all of it, you may be able to crop down to focus on markings, if Dad is not keen on close ups of markings and such. Just a helpful hint, to get your best chance at an ID. Not my forte' so I can't help, however, I'm wondering about the copper. It looks like Brass or Bronze to me. JMHO

Its beautiful......I'd want to know more too, if I were you. Have you tried cleaning a corner on the back, to get a better idea of the color of the metal?

You are saying that the back is rough, which to me implies that it is probably cast.
I don't think they would have cast copper. More likely bronze. Guessing late 1800s to 19teens.

    I'm just suppositioning:
You say Dad is 82 and received it as a teenager and grandma was an antiques dealer.
So Dad received it in the early 50s. At which time, items that your grandmother was picking up would have been from the early to late 1800s, possibly earlier.

I tend to doubt that items from late 1800s to early 1900s would have been considered antiques at that time. She probably did not consider it to be of high value, since she was probably born in the early 1900s. Just like we do not consider items from the 1940s-50s to be considered antiques as that is when many of us were born.
I kind of think Collectibles were not of much interest in the 50s.

Not saying this is how it is, just might be.

Is it just me or do those boards say the dimensions are not that to others?

The boards are old barn boards 12" wide.

I think I liked to you,, the plaque is 26" wide, not 24"

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I hope your father can figure out how to send more photos. As I was looking more closely at this I noticed there is a bird that looks like a crane flying in the sky. Seems a little unusual, in a way. Of course there is also a dog next to the stag, and a hunter on a horse a little behind. So maybe a stag hunt plaque?
