Copper repoussé and chased copper decorative plates - where from?

These are about 10" (25cm) in diameter - decorated with plants and birds. The repoussé work gives a very nice relief to the decoration. What part of the world are these from? I don't think they're super old but - any ideas on age?

    Thanks again for looking!

This little birdie agrees with Persian.:chicken: But the dating in the link is very ambitious. I would say first half of the 20th century.

Many thanks, once again, AJ, or professor owl, or little birdie :)

The chasing is very "rough" and not high quality, probably done by a beginner in a street shop.

Perhaps - I've seen a lot worse. These may not appeal to everyone but I find them pretty enough to hang on my own walls :)

It is typical of the period from the late 19th century-mid 20th century. As a result of the souvenir industry all Persian crafts went downhill. Souvenirs were made in a hurry, and tourists bought them anyway because they were exotic looking.
Ca mid 20th century more quality control was introduced, and when I was there in the early 70s, the quality of Persian arts and crafts was very good. As far as I know, it still is.

Very nice link, Holly, but Turkish and Persian cultures and styles are different.
Aaron's plates are Persian, the designs are less formalised Islamic, but closer to Indo-Persian/Mughal, with all those animals.
