Got a small copper box with what looks like a silver buffalo attached at the top. There is a name etched on the bottom. Somewhat hard to make out.

Native American? Fred Harvey? Something else?

    Thanks for looking.

Nice, Kronos. Looks kind of Arts&Crafts to me.

I find myself wondering if the signature is owner added, not artist. Just seems the person was not adept at using whatever signing tool they used.

I'm currently wondering if the whole thing was homemade craft project.

To my eye, looks like an amatuer metal shop project - the critter looks like aluminum, and though rather poorly cut, believe it's supposed to be a dog or maybe a wolf (bison don't generally sit)...

Looked like "Ferdinand" the bull siting down to me. :bag:

The sitting, the long tail, and the horn-like ears put me in mind of this not-bison:

Omg. :jawdrop: I can't believe I got sniped on the Ferdinand reference. :hilarious:

The box itself with that hammered copper texture looks similar to others from the early to mid 1900's. The figure, i'm not sure. Its certainly stylized whatever it is. I purchased it from an 80 something year old Native American man that seemed to take pride in his heritage. He'd sell jewelry at the local flea market and one time had a sale at his place. Sadly he passed away so I can't ask him about it now.

    Thanks for the replies.
