Costume brooch - what style? Where from?

Not silver - very slightly attracted to magnet. No marks. About 1 1/2" across, weighs 17 grams ~ about .6 oz. Missing a couple of the tiny turquoise bits in the flowers. Is this a particular style? If so - where might it be from? I'm not sure if the black tone is tarnish...or if it was meant to be this dark? A light wash in soap and water didn't take any of it off. I believe the cut stones are glass. Thanks for your input :)

I think the black finish is referred to as "Japanned". Someone may be along that recognizes the maker by the texture on the back.

All the stones appear to be glass. Czechoslovakia was a major supplier of glass 'stones', don't how much they made the finished jewellery. AJ is good with these things.

It's very recent indeed. As in, the last twenty years at most. Not Czech with that back or the japanning.

    Lovely brooch, aaron.
Agree with Obb, that structured cast back is pretty recent. The style is derived from 19th century styles, a bit of Orientalist influence. Two of the turquoise coloured beads are missing, those can be replaced.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and input. I'm going to see about finding some small beads to bring this back to a complete state :)
