    I found a reference to a children's book illustrator named M.C. Perts. May be s/he. Could/would you post a good quality close-up of the sticker? It's illegible in photos you've already posted.

    Full name Michael C. Perts. Did the illustrations for Humpty, the retelling of a Russian fairy tale, by Peter Yershov in 1931. At least right culture.
