This caught my eye on my dinner break. I've been in the charity shop three days on the bounce now. I think they must have had a house clearance as there have been a fair few early 20th century knick knacks.

Anyway I think it's a vase but I can't find anything like it on t'interweb. Mark on the back states 'Mattatone' which I assume to be Crown Devon Fieldings. Second line I can't make out. I think this might be quite useful in finding a similar item on line. It might be a subdivision of the Mattatone items that they made. There was also Mattajade, Mattita and Mattasung. This doesn't appear to be any of the above. Finally the last line is Made in England I would guess. Funny that it doesn't mention Crown Devon as this is almost always present from my experience. There are also initials present, which I assuming is the artist. Ø = 32cm

That text makes my eyes cross...Something ending in G...E? I think you're on the right track for a subdivision/line name. Definitely Made in England at the last. A very pretty color and texture.

First photo was poor quality. Approaching dusk and camera doesn't want to focus on it. Maybe because there are no defined edges.

Certainly looks like there should be some sort of insert for the central well of the bowl. My first thought was that a spiked flower frog for a floral arrangement would go in the well, but unsure.

Oh noooó. It's ruined.I guess the flowers would just languish horizontally without.
