Which brings me to an electrified antique lamp I grew up with that's STILL hanging around in our basement some probably 70 years and maybe 10 homes later!! Just a quick confirmation will do.......my lamp LOOKS to be the SAME pattern......what say you all???? Think so or not??? Thanks....I think it is, but actually never thought about it before!!!!! Here's my lamp:

You are likely correct in that the glass portion is Murano & the technique is called latticino.

Ah, there’s been much debate on the Murano groups. They now refer to this as zanfirico rather than latticino. I’d agree it’s almost certainly made on Murano.

I just read that and was surprised since it must have happened when I wasn't looking. The Corning Museum says that latticino was replaced by Filigrana which 20th century glass says is an old term. I can at least remember Filigrana but not so much Zanfirico.

 

we use all of those terms in auction descriptions and the most current is zanfirico. LOVELY!

 

Not sure my brain can handle all those changes but thank you ALL, SO MUCH.....NICE to KNOW, after SO MANY YEARS!!!!!!!!!!! We haven't "pulled the trigger" on moving yet, so it's not going anywhere.....YET!!!
