CRYSTAL PITCHER/CARAFE HAS SILVER(?) TOP MARKED ' MADE IN GERMANY' - PRE WWII?

    I found this at the local thrift store. I wouldn't have bought it except I saw the MAde in Germany stamped behind the handle on the silver(?) top.

    Is this pre wwii? Is the top real silver?

    The glass/crystal bottom seems newer tome - especially looking at the bottom - is it?

    Definitely European based on the unpolished cut.

    Silverplated. It would be marked if it were solid silver.

    It could easily be post war. Whilst some stuff was marked West or Western Germany, not all of it was.
