This is currently for sale. I was just curious what country it might be from, no need to spend a lot of time looking. Just hoping to learn.
The ad says it’s brass with agate and obsidian. The metal is flexible. Any thoughts? Thanks for looking. :)

It looks Indian made to me, but not traditional. Nice design.
I agree with agate, not too sure about obsidian. Maybe onyx? Or even glass?

    Thank you, AnyJewelry!
I wasn’t sure and figured possibly Glass.
It looks to have some age, I didn’t think artificially aged. :)

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Would you say upper arm cuff or wrist cuff???

The bracelet is 2-5/8" wide and the metal portion is 7-1/2" long (as shown, the gap is almost an inch wide)

These are the dimensions from the ad.

Seen things from Afghanistan made like this, maybe it's from there?

    Thanks, Blooey.
I know there are very subtle differences that can distinguish from region to region.
Maybe it’s the stamped flowers on the rim that is indicating India?
    Anyjewelry might be back around.
She has a good “Spidey Sense” about these things.
Pardon me for using an expression not everyone is familiar with.
Spidey Sense equates to intuition. :)

The style is loosely Turkmen Kuchi, although they use a lot of coral and turquoise ..maybe in the more remote areas of the steppes, agates and carnelian are more commonly used?

I’m not sure about the stones used on Kuchi work. I don’t really see this applied wire work on any as of yet.

Agreed. Let's just say Afghany-ish for now - hard to get more specific.

I agree. It could be 60s, Hippie Trail jewellery. It has that feel.
I still love Hippie Trail jewellery, whether from Asia or from North Africa.

I was on that trail and all I got to show for it was a smelly leather jacket:oldman:

I don't think there was much mixing between the Turkmen and the Kuchi, both groups are fiercely tribal.;) In that region fiercely means exactly that.:nailbiting:

Kuchi is used nowadays as a coverall term for anything made by nomadic peoples in Western Asia and the western part of India. However, this is not Kuchi.
As for Turkmen, the shape is reminiscent of some Turkmen cuff bracelets, but that is as far as it goes. Most Turkmen cuffs have 'claws' at the back, btw.
This is a Turkmen cuff without claws, but as you can see, the style is very different:

So you still think it's from India then, right?

Most likely option imo. And not traditional, but related to the souvenir link bracelets and pendants with the same agate combo. Those are Indian made, but also exported to the Middle East where they are sold as locally made.
    This one is nicer though.

Just to explain the claws, here is an antique silver with goldwash and carnelian Turkmen cuff bracelet with 'claws' at the back, they symbolize protection.

Apolgies for the eery blueish glow on the claws, I am wearing a blue shirt.
