IMG_5209.jpeg IMG_5204.jpeg IMG_5205.jpeg IMG_5208.jpeg IMG_5203.jpeg IMG_5202.jpeg I’m intrigued that this pitcher has a pattern (looks to be transferred) that resembles wood knots and grain. Is there an era that this was particularly popular (art noveau)? Was there a significance to it?

lid appears to be pewter and there is no maker’s mark that I see. About 8” in height so for milk or a pub jug? Any opinions or suggestions are welcomed! TIA

that was for sale on etsy (for US$70.00; not marked as sold, but no longer available), described as a 'Rare Antique Agateware Jug c.1860'

Despite the Etsy seller's claim, I disagree with OP's pitcher being agateware. Agateware is created by mixing differently colored clays, it is not an applied (ie: transferware) pattern.
