This glass plate was kind of hidden under the shelves at thrift store, sometimes employees hide items for friends etc. good thing I'm a hunter...

This plate does not have any markings on it, anyone recognize it or who might be the maker ?

    Thank You

There's a Beatrix Potter, Jemima Puddleduck feel to it.

Yes, Beatrix Potter but not quite. Similiar to her illustrations of Jemima Puddleduck and Peter Rabbit.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Sure makes you wonder if someone HAND PAINTED billy's plate AFTER factory since a lot of the paint/finish is worn off?????

Glass from the turn of the century was often cold painted. Mostly gold, but I have a milk glass vanity bottle painted with green.

@clutteredcloset49, wouldn't that make it not really very usable then, if the paint was prone to coming off???

don't know who done it, but have also seen these listed as Westmoreland, and simply as antique or 'vintage'. Can't find anything definitive for WG or Dithridge, but seem consistent with both, as well as others. This is a decorative item, so cold painting wouldn't necessarily have been a consideration as related to a 'useable' dish.

    Just got home from work.
    Thanks Don for answering.
And I agree, these weren't decorated to be used with food. Meant to be used as a decoration.
