Dagger

    Hello guys!

    I’m just going to help my friend he found a dagger that has mark 1777 at the handle and japan In the blade. He want to know how much money he can get if he sell it as he don’t collect antique item.

    Welcome, Adrielle. How big is it? It looks rather like a letter opener at the moment. Is the blade sharp?

    Welcome, Adrielle. I agree with Bronwen, it looks like a letter opener rather than dagger. A dagger is something you can defend yourself with and save your life, if necessary.
    The fact that it has 'Japan' stamped in the blade makes me think it is a souvenir. 1777 could be a manufacturing code. It is not antique.

    It’s only 15cm long. And it is not sharp thats why I’m wondering how the dagger is not sharp and short for a 15cm.

    That is more proof it is a letter opener. A letter opener doesn't need to be sharp to do the job.:)
