50 cents -- caught my eye as maybe older? Any guesses on maker?

Also wondering whether would be a bad idea to use this outside if it is older.

    Thanks for taking a look.

I think this is the same pattern with different finish and this seller is saying it's Robinson Ransbottom. They also include a photo from a 1919 Butler Brothers' catalog showing what appears to be the same shape.

Never ever outside. These were made to hold a separate pot, for one thing, not for direct planting. And, exterior pots are fired for days at 1100 C to make them weather and frost proof.

Ditto! SIS is amazing with her sleuthing. Thank you so much! :pompous:

    Don't worry... I won't put it outside, Bear. ;)

Kind of you all to say but I personally don't have any documentary material and this is information that could be correct but you'll note that there isn't any maker information in the catalog photo they show. I don't have any personal knowledge, books or handy websites that cover any RRPC items but I think others here do.

I do like the pattern on this one very much though I pull "Virginia Creeper" out of my property in spots where it grows like a weed:)

It's in the Sanford's RRPCo book. On a 1926 catalog page, it's a #4 Luxor Jar, but on a 1915 catalog page, it's a Majolica Jardiniere #3, made in 3 colors. At least we know the ID is correct.
