Featured Davenport circa 1850 best guess

    Hi my girlfriend bought this today for all the right reasons because she loved it and found it interesting.

    It's not without damage or some repairs work . Its not an investment just a nice piece for the house.

    However would be interested if anyone had any ideas on the history of the piece ,dates , construction or how I could check and research it. I'm aware it's difficult to do this from photo but any information would be greatly received

    Not much to go off this one pic. Appears to be walnut and your guess of 1850 or just a bit older seems to be right. Don't believe it to be American.

    Bet that's British. Burr walnut. Anytime from, oh, 1850 to the late 19th.
