Have not been able to id the maker from the mark on this hand painted Danish pottery stick handled covered casserole dish with fish design. Can you decipher the word above the figure's head? Any ideas about the hand painted signature?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    TIA

Do you mean the word HEDEBO?

I believe the name refers to an area in Denmark. (I'm sure someone who knows more will correct me if I didn't get that right!)

The flat and fertile moraine landscape between Roskilde, Køge and Copenhagen was since the Middle Ages known as Hedeboegnen or simply Heden ("The Heath").
