A local woman has a display of DG in the library. Thinking I could sell some of my inheritance to her, I contacted her through her Facebook account and asked if she was interested. Of course she wanted photos which I sent to her. She responded that she was only interested in the shakers and had to consult her price guide and would get back to me.

That was a few weeks ago, so I sent her a reminder to ask if she still wanted them. I just heard back from her and she indicated that shaker sets are going for a lot these days and it just isn't in her budget right now. That seems odd to me since all I've heard online is that DG isn't getting the prices it had even a few years ago. I wonder what price guide she is using?

Anyway, these are the shaker sets. I have an old Gene Florence DG book and the "Adam" in pink is listed at $65, the "Floral" in pink is $45, the "Florentine" in green (these are UV fluorescent) is $42.50 and the "Patrician" in amber is listed as $55.00. All are in great condition.

Maybe ask her what she is willing to offer for them.

When she initially contacted me, she said she goes by her price guide.

I couldn't say about hers, but my Gene Florence book is from 1994.

If it were me, I would ask her again what is the most she is willing to pay, saying you are not looking for book value.

If she said they weren't in her budget, I doubt she would want them now at any price. She likely said that to let herself off the hook without being rude.

I am looking for a "fair" market value so I'm not cheating myself or a buyer.

The green ones are uranium glass :) I sold a pair in January for $20.

Check sold listings on ebay for realistic values.
