Featured Did I find english silver??

Found this one today, did I find english silver? Either way, I paid $2.23 so I’m not destroyed if it’s plated.

I was just looking at the same thing, I think EV is Edward Viner?

DANG! I was so proud of myself, I got it right, it just took me too long to find it

 

But you did find it and it was good exercise, Marie!

 

For those of you that know me on the forum, you know I can't resist polishing silver...Pretty much as soon as I got home I started working on it. Whoever owned this didn't polish it in a long time; the inside of the dish had some rough built up tarnish/corrosion. But alas, this pretty little piece is now in the hands of a silver lover, never again will it go without a good cleaning ever so often!

I for one(and hopefully I speak for others here) love reading about each time you find a new vein of silver - gives me extra impetus to look through the god awful racks full of decrepit electroplate that seem to be all I find nowadays at the thrifts. In the last few years the best and really only piece of sterling I've found was a little 19th cent Tiffany scent bottle that I ended up selling recently - but the thrill of looking through my magnifying glass and seeing the letters spell out TIFFANY has kept me out there looking since. Keep up the searching - and the posting!
