Found this one today, did I find english silver? Either way, I paid $2.23 so I’m not destroyed if it’s plated. AD3C1E1D-80E6-4421-B0A5-7565DEFFC54C.jpeg

For those of you that know me on the forum, you know I can't resist polishing silver...Pretty much as soon as I got home I started working on it. Whoever owned this didn't polish it in a long time; the inside of the dish had some rough built up tarnish/corrosion. But alas, this pretty little piece is now in the hands of a silver lover, never again will it go without a good cleaning ever so often!

Nice find! Gonna have to start calling you "the man with the silver nose". Before you know it you'll be a Bond villain.

I just want to say to everyone how much I enjoy being on this forum. Collectively, you are all the kindest, warmest, and smartest people I have the pleasure of interacting with. It's great for me because I've found people who share my joy and passion for collecting this stuff. I was giggling reading "the man with the silver nose," it honestly made me feel great. To everyone I've talked with on here, thank you for accepting me as one of your own and for sharing your stories, experiences and wit to this positive site!

I for one(and hopefully I speak for others here) love reading about each time you find a new vein of silver - gives me extra impetus to look through the god awful racks full of decrepit electroplate that seem to be all I find nowadays at the thrifts. In the last few years the best and really only piece of sterling I've found was a little 19th cent Tiffany scent bottle that I ended up selling recently - but the thrill of looking through my magnifying glass and seeing the letters spell out TIFFANY has kept me out there looking since. Keep up the searching - and the posting!
