Beautiful pieces. What are the roses made of?

An old soft toothbrush and Fairy liquid, VERY carefully. They're on string, so I was worried about the thread. Milk glass. Very weird clasp.

I've seen the clasp before, but not too often. It's usually on artisan pieces.

That is one weird clasp. I'm trying to figure out how it works. it looks medical somehow...as if it were to rearticulate a finger...

    It's essentially a snap.

The thing that looks like a ball bearing goes through a sort of ring. Snaps in.

I wonder if someone lampworked the roses, then put the thing together.

The frosted beads are rather nice too.

They were made in factories. I've seen a few, but never a whole necklace.

Are the purple flowers assembled on wire?

They're on a multi strand purple thread, @Bookahtoo , which looks synthetic. I'd think someone clever made them.

@evelyb30 do you mean the frosted ones?

Those frosted ones look good enough to eat. Or wear.

It's not the best photo, they're even nicer in real life.

Fiber optic glass. 1950s Japanese probably. I've always seen them in white or pastel colors.

The factory-made beads I was talking about were the roses. Early 50s hard plastic of some sort?

Nope, they're actually milk glass, those roses. They look lampwork.

The make me want to scrub the flowers and then rework the whole thing. Those roses deserve better.
