Difficult, If Not Impossible, Ink on Leather Sig and Italian Majolica Piece?

    Hi all,

I need major help with the sig on the deer drawing. I have another piece with a bear that is done and framed similarly. It appears to be signed "Jack Hines," but I'm just not seeing anything close in this deer pic.

As for the pottery, did I score an old majolica piece? What kind of flowers are those? Lilies?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Your dish is mid century Italian. Sort of hibiscus, but the leaves are wrong.

I really like the deer....can you take a "NOT QUITE so close" image of that signature?? Too much texture to try to make it out that close.....thanks! AND we may never figure it out, but worth a shot!!!!:happy:

The Japanese cherry blossom has stamens. 548A5579-8259-4124-ADA7-68741AEFF751.jpeg

Yup, but look at the petal shapes, and the way the flowers are held as a bunch cluster. And the leaves.

It's annoying me. It's a hardy Mediterranean evergreen shrub and I can't remember the damn name.

Thx. Mid-cent Ital MAJOLICA, right? I'm trying to get better at finding Maj pieces.

I'd not really call it majolica, not sure I'm seeing a tin glaze.

My apologies. I'm having technical difficulties in uploading the new pics. I'm using the same process I always do of sending pics from my phone to my laptop and then uploading to this site, but my g-mail account has the sent images as "queued." Will upload to this site as soon as I can get this corrected.

The emails finally came through out of the black hole of Gmail queued. Sorry for the delay.
