    Look what I found yesterday!

My first one! Although it's killing me, I'm listing it anyway. No use for it at my age and life style, plus no place to display it.

So what do you suppose was the intended use for this? Serving strawberries? I would use it at tea time (if I drank tea) to serve cookies, cakes and other treats. It would be nice to have the matching tea service.

So what is it supposed to be used for? The basket is fairly roomy. It's 10" x 7" x 2" except where the cream and sugar are attached, that's 11". What would you do with it?

OK, I know I'm showing off but can't help sharing when it's this pretty!

Ok . . . how does one "tag" a person. Do I just write a message. I wanted it in General Discussion.

Thanks CX, I sent Davey a "Conversation", LOL. I hope it isn't the middle of the night in the UK. Would it be rude to send the same message to Bookahtoo?

Thank you for moving it, Davey. ineedhelp: TY! I've been going through a strawberry thing lately. Many items relating to strawberries have been turning up in my orbit. This one is the best. Maybe the next thing will be a set of Strawberry Forks. That would be nice!

It was made by Hammersley, Morgan's Rose.

Very nice. I have a similar one but in an ivory color, no decorations.
Mine is from 1992 or so. I never used it, but I had intended on using it with cookies, cake slices, cupcakes etc.

See now that's the thing. Would anyone really use this basket? It's lovely but maybe a little over the top for a lot of people. A lady I met in the antique mall said that she has this type of serving item and used to regularly have tea party type functions, inviting all of her nieces and others to stay in touch and chat. They loved attending, but they never reciprocated so she stopped doing them. They ask her all the time when the next one will be. My advice was to keep having them because they have to look up from their phones some time, LOL!

Afternoon tea and things like cup cakes are big here, it'd sell.
