the holidays always makes me revisit my wish list - thought it would be fun if we all posted about what our ultimate acquisition would be....

long long ago I saw 3 Martin Brothers Pottery Grotesque Birds at the prestigious Baltimore show - I have never seen any since - the dealer wanted $30,000 each SAY WHAT? and unfortunately that would be a bargain price even in today's weak market... the birds are most often humidors - and while I would be ecstatic to have one - and blown away to have a triple - my coveted object is the Martin Brothers Birdman

here's some piccies - look forward to seeing all of your wishlist

Maybe a nice snuffbox or two. They haven't all been acquired by permanent collections, and nice ones do come on the market.

For me... Other than a complete MS remission and peace and reconstruction in Ukraine and cheap electricity? Cleopatra's jewels would do. Or a good rummage in the Tower collection and the Cheapside Hoard. The old Sisti mansion to store it all in. It's a pile of a disaster of a house, but it's big. Fiddy bought it only to unload it cheap because it was such a white elephant. It would make a good place to run an eBay business out of too.

I'm in the Martin Brothers camp for sure. And also, a Doulton Pushkin cat.

Cheapside Hoard, oh yes, on my list. A Fatimid rock crystal ewer is there.

I'll settle for this, though, please.

OMG!! Me too! I didn't know such a thing even existed. What a beauty.

And I wouldn't mind a few of Queen Elizabeth's famous brooches. Both of these would do plus any others they were willing to part with.

I always blanched when I saw her wearing pink lipstick with autumn colors, like orange. But then, I imagined her having cases and cases of that shade since she wore it with everything.

Wow so interesting to see these items you all desire. I didn't know some existed.

I would have to think more on this subjec.

Like Ruth, I would love to get rid of my ailments once and for all and see the violence and hate come to an end. A gal can dream.
