Does anyone know anything about this Beethoven Head Statue?

    3B9CB13E-0787-4EA7-A9C5-32C4A3AFE527.jpeg 37158222-7B96-4BDF-AA03-2C74ED7B736F.jpeg DA6D4334-4EA7-4218-BD66-5D36D0D3946D.jpeg It’s looks and feels like cooper or bronze, but I’m not sure which one? It’s 6” tall and 3.5” inches wide. Thank you for your help.

    Looks like a casting - bottom poured in the mold (hence the rough bottom - should have been pushed up to a disc sander to flatten it). Maybe Brass as that has a relatively low melting point - around 1700° F - and most smaller foundries can get their furnace up to that temp with just natural gas.

    With the copper color showing may be an incomplete mix of copper and zinc.............
    Brass is a metal composed primarily of copper and zinc. Copper is the main component, and brass is usually classified as a copper alloy.

    People often had little busts of famous composers, Beethoven & Mozart seem to have been particular favorites, on the piano, for the inspiration of child students. However, this does not appear meant to have been seen from the back, so perhaps placement on a mantle or a table set against a wall would have been more likely.
