Does anyone recognize this artist D. Southard's signature?

I bought this at a thrift store. Pretty sure it is a chalk pastel painting. The D. Southard signature is not like the only Don Southard signature I found on Invaluable. The frame looks older to me than the kind of frame Don Southard's work would be in. Any thoughts. I love it, especially how the hands and cuffs just pop. It is almost like they are in front of the background to me. The frame measures 17 3/16" by 13 3/16". Please know I do not get notices if someone has answered, so my replies may take until I remember to check back. Thank you. It's a copy of Dürer's 'The Praying Hands.'

This hobbiest did a decent job of their copy and some nice color blending. I'm glad you enjoy it!

Thank you. Yes, I knew it was not the original but an after someone, but didn't know it was after Durer. Thank you for that. I am really looking for someone who might know this D. Southard.

Why don't you open up the back and see if any information to be found there? You can also do a bit of research on familysearch.org. Free to join. Long shot but... With name and location where you found, you may get lucky. Shaky handwriting so I'd expect to find an older man. But also a stylized signature so I'd think creative training/background. The kinda thing done by a commercial artist in retirement, for instance.

Thank you. I did just open back, nothing. No luck on familysearch.org. I did find it is definitely a chalk pastel at least. I appreciate it.
