    Wonder if it falls under Empire style.
    I would put the date to the mid 1800s.

    Does look somewhat Empire but wonder really if this might have been a commercial store piece. Those spindles and the fluted sides of the top just don't fit sylistically at all. Mid to late 19th century or later seems about right.

    Maybe a silly question, but does anyone else ever look at the postings here in "furniture" and think:
