Inspired by AF's cleaning on the hoarder/collector discussion, I am going through the shelves to make a Good Will run. I noticed this had a mark and stopped to looked it up.

It is a Gotha Pfeffer mark that was used between 1934 and 1942. I am completely unfamiliar with the name. One is listed on ebay for $90! Why? I was shocked at some of the prices.

This is the only Gotha Pfeffer Dog that I found with a hole in the tail. Was this meant to hold something? The way the dog is looking right at the tail, I thought perhaps it had a purpose. Is anyone familiar with these? Thank you in advance.

(This completely stopped the cleaning process while I research everything in the box).

Thank you SIS! Funny, I just found this pin too (beagle?).
I will have to change my search and see if I can find others. I'm still shocked at some of the prices for these pieces.

That asking price is irrelevant to any rational discussion of value

You will find they eventually sell around $5-20

Have had a number of the comic German dog figurines over the years, they often had little metal flies set on various parts of their bodies, and that's what belongs on his tail...
