    I have spent many many hours and days trying to find more about this dog, wolf or coyote metal statue. The statue dimensions are 4 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 5 1/4". I would like to know if this is a dog, wolf or coyote, the type of metal and maker. Thank you for assistance in this request. Rob

    Possibly cast iron looking at the rust on the base. Does a magnet stick to it?

    He's a book end. An internet image search might bring up an example of the pair.

    A magnet does not stick to it.

    Alsatian dog. What they used to call German Shepherds.
    As noted, one of a pair of bookends.
    1930s or so. Originally bronze or copper plated (I believe they did both on this model) over pot metal.

    Thank you. I think its probably worth less than 20 bucks from similar book ends on ebay. Rob

    I found the other one just like the one in the original pics aboveon top of my mom's china cabinet with curved glass. I will add pics of them together. Just wanted to let everyone know.

    @rknarr2
    Not sure you have a matched set.
    Looks like you have two of the left side of the pair.
    No right side,which would be facing away to the right. In other words a mirrored pair.

    Some came in identical pairs. When in use, one faces in and the other out so appear different.

    It says just like the one shown.
    Guess I'm not putting two and two together.
