Picked off an old farmstead dating way back. Some of the buildings were sod bricks. Was wondering what the year might be on this! Thanks in advance!

6 billion billion of these have been made. ;)
The knob itself probably can't be trusted for date.
    Name on it anywhere?

Any chance there's patent info on the back?

(I had one with a patent date in 1897 on it... I looked at over 400 patents for that date until I found it!)

My locksmith husband says probably 1890s. It's not forged, it's machine made. We have a pile of them under the counter. Nice knob, though.

I'll check when I get home. Date range is more what I meant the homestead probably dates back to early 1800s and they never tore down the buildings, just left them and built new ones. It was inhabited till about 1970.

I'll take a look, I need to do some gentle cleaning to it.
