    I wouldn't be thinking tobacco :angelic:....and might guess the stems and bowl are wood, with the snakes and joining sections being Fimo or similar material sculpted and applied. Looks like there is a gemstone or rock on one side, and the technique of surrounding a rock or gem with sculpted material was pretty common from hippie days until today.
