I read B.T. Scam, but that seems an odd name.

It is a nice drawing, swiftly done, sorry I cannot read the name either. It is reminiscent of the sort of souvenir drawings done in S.America, although I'm not saying this is what it is, just that style of using the media on toothed paper is similar. Kind of has a depression era look to the character, what with his cap and sad expression.

    I'd think a bit later. 1940s.

The shirt with a zipper is unusual. Don't know what it might say about where & when this boy lived.

Zippered work shirts were introduced in the 1930s.

Schety? Schetz? No idea. I do think it looks like some child actor though can't think of which one. Not Jackie Cooper I don't think but maybe same era?

@gerspee , while it's mostly black and white, does it have a dash of pink color in the shirt and lips? Or perhaps that is a reflection from the lighting - in the camera?

Think it's a reflection from the camera . But the Cooper photo looks a lot like the boy on my drawing . But the artist is a difficult one to find I think

It's so subtle, I thought it could be a reflection. The Cooper pose is nearly it. Thanks for the link and photo, SIS.

I can usually tell if a sketch was done from a photograph or from a real life person sitting, but this one is more difficult to discern. If I had to guess, I would guess real life, while some of it may be charcoal, the dark black may be a grease pencil, which is fairly common graphics tool for souvenir portrait artists. It reminds me of one of the sketches a portrait artist would show to portray their work. The detail in the eyes is excellent.

Today. the signature looks like either a B or a K - and K.T. Schutz but I didn't google either variation.

I think the last letter is a Z and goes down like a z and he has a period after it. No idea.

It looks like the kind of drawing you'd find a street artist making in a park or tourist area. You see them all over in the big cities - especially Europe.
