drop dangle glass earrings

These black glass earrings are not marked, anyone know age maker etc. ?

60s/70s and ... who knows. Odds are they're impossibly heavy, but they're red carpet for sure.

 

By choice, I haven't been anywhere that these would be appropriate in probably 30 years.

And yet... *sigh*

I would've guessed them quite a bit older, but I've got nothing to go on.

 

I'm seeing those with a red strapless dress. Not on me. Strapless on me would frighten small children and large men.(LOL)

 

I would have been likely to wear them with jeans... but I also would've been wearing stilettos.

And an oversized jacket with huge padded shoulders.

But now? Now, my work boots are the only footwear I own with heels.

That clip is 70s ish, or a tad later. The quality is in the articulation. I'd clean them a bit, and wear them with almost anything. Dunk them in soapy water or Windex them.

 

Costume red carpet for sure, as suggested!

One thing I am noticing, some of the dangles seem to be missing. That is a big problem that will negate much of the value (unless you have the missing pieces). Clips are a bit of a hard sell and most woman wear pierced earrings nowadays. There are a few folks who wear clips, but this heavy style can be uncomfortable to wear.

Billy did you get these earrings with the japanned pin and earrings we ID'd the other day? If yes, former owner had very nice taste.

Going to be nearly impossible to nail down the maker since they are unsigned. The style doesn't really point to anyone specifically, and unless you found the exact pair with a matching necklace that was signed, attribution will be impossible.

That said, the glass looks nice, and someone may want the vintage glass dangles for another project.
