Drop leaf vs drop side tables

    Are these used interchangeably or is there an actual difference?

    I thought that drop leaf, drop side, and side drop (and other combinations therof!) were pretty much interchangeable. I Googled the three above and looked at the images and definitions for those three, and I think that, yes, they're equivalent in most people's minds.

    As far as what the tops do, I think of them as the same as well. A more important distinction is how the moveable parts are supported when up. Gate-leg, extendable piece(s) stored under the non-moving top or a "flap" that folds out from the center support when needed and in when not (neither of which are legs.)
