I love this Dutch Biedermeier brooch. It couldn't be more Dutch if it tried.;)
It has the 1814-1905 sword mark for .833 silver and is set with a giant moonstone. I thought it looked like chalcedony, but the seller said moonstone and he was right, it tests like moonstone.
The safety chain is a later addition, it is marked with a weight mark introduced in 1906.
    The brooch measures 6.1cm x 4.1cm, 2 13/32" x 1 39/64".

My question is about the maker's mark.
It is a 2 letter 2 digit mark, which is usual for a 19th century Dutch maker's mark. However, I can't read it very well, and I can't find a mark that resembles what I see. What I read is VC.7(?). I can't find it, I have looked at other V marks as well.

So please, all you silver mavens and wonderful searchers, can you help me?

    Thank you for looking.:)

    Beautiful!
Was this purchased from Catwiki? Because they have the same one, but the marks don’t look any better.

Yes, that's the one. I tried to make the mark look better, but no luck. It is old and tired.;)

I will continue to check, but I have no references. Maybe at @Bakersgma or @DragonflyWink will have a look.
    Enjoy it, it’s beautiful! :)

It is weird but I don't see 71. It looks like an old H. As you are sure that it suppose to have 2 letters and 2 digits, I will try to find the mark.

Glorious! I would have swear it was a white chalcedony:cyclops:!
For the mark, I noticed it becomes easier to read when repeatably and quickly blinking at them:cyclops:;););)!
This trick gives me W.K... What result do you have?

My thoughts exactly, but the test showed the seller was right.

Far be it for me to stick my nose where it doesn't belong. But I thought this site's marks were very readable because they're black and white renderings. Just in case this isn't in your arsenal of research sites:

Does the stone have schiller or adularescence? If not it's plain old white feldspar.
