Eagle Emblem - motorbike?

Bought this eagle this morning while visiting a flea market. Looks like something used as decor on a motorbike.

Yes, you are right. This is French, Napoleon area. Which Napoleon? Authentic? That remains to be seen. Thanks.

 

Napoleon IV looks like.(LOL) That threaded screw mount thingie looks 20th century to me. Someone else may know better.

 

MY first thought was top finial on a lamp..........but the more I think about it and just went and checked, the threading is on the other end.....I lose!!!!!

 

What's the difference between 19th and 20the century bolds?

I often sell these little things after a few months to make room for something 'new' om my dressoirs. Sold within a week and the new owner was very happy with it. He thinks it comes from a coach. Paid two, made a tenner. Fine with me.

 

And who would have thought I would have got a musical trip down memory lane on a Saturday morning! What sheer fun!

 

I have one of those and it's screwed into the top of a secretary we inherited from hubby's mother when we got the family homestead. Mine doesn't have the nut on the screw part, though. Obviously.
