An extremely rare biscuit barrel for collectors. Described by the auctioneer as an ice box, though dreadfully small and thin-shelled it would be, this biscuit barrel is incredibly well made.
Made entirely of brass with a tinned lining and a heavy sturdy hinge. My favourite part of it is the latches of the hat box (final photo). It a remarkably playful part of the Edwardian high-life and is a brilliant thing to own.
Both fortunately and unfortunately, I am selling this barrel as it has far too much potential value for me to keep on a shelf, I’d rather a biscuit barrel collector take this off my hands and it be part of a more complete collection.

Here are two examples I have found online (though both desc. are identical so they may be one same barrel :

Yeh, was only weirded out by the price difference. A staggeringly high price, saw it in a small local for £45
