Just wondering if you could possibly tell me what this was? Its Eastern Airlines, I just cant figure out its use! I got it from a junk yard, cant find it online and I am really curious as to what it is! I would love to know what it is technically- looks like a possible serving dish of some sort? Thanks so much

Airline meals are prepared ahead of time by caterers on the ground. This insulated container is loaded just before take off with a portioned serving in each of the dishes.

How interesting. The shape is based on an Indian Dabbawallah's food carrier. Also known as a tiffin box.

    Hi,
It just seems to me not to be EAL but initials of the owner. I think they are just coasters.

Dunno about it being Eastern, but it's definitely a tiffin box.

One of the most beautiful planes ever built! I have always liked them and miss seeing them flying around. :(

I tried to get stuff when they shut from some travel agencies and got a thing or two and a pile of charge sheets to go through credit card sliders.

I love Connies. Used to go and watch the ones flying out of Camarillo.

How big are they? I can't believe every meal on the plane was served in this. Are they coasters for glasses or wine bottles in first class?

That's the way it was done. Preportioned. Preheated. Everything ready to set on a tray and serve.
