I found this at a thrift store today.
Googling Ebbets field, it said it was a major league baseball park before it was torn down & the Dodgers built a new one (in 60's I think, but i don't remember exactly, sorry.
What is this? A street sign? A train sign? A modern commemorative piece?
It must have some age - the screws holding the lens are older slot machine screws.
PS - when I picked it up to bring inside I felt a wire - pulling it out it looks like a old lamp electrical cord without the plug.
Was this to connect it to another sign attached on top of it (they gi up to 3 high like a traffic light) or to plug in a wall & use for decoration? But if for decoration, why doesnt it come out of the bottom , less obvious? 20250320_103432.jpg 20250320_103435.jpg 20250320_103446.jpg 20250320_103449.jpg 20250320_103542.jpg 20250320_103548.jpg 20250320_103554.jpg 20250320_162007.jpg 20250320_162027.jpg

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My husband would be envious of anything from Ebbets field.

Any real baseball fan would be all over it, either from Brooklyn or Los Angeles. That was home of the Dodgers before the booked it for the other coast. A quick search has me wondering if it's not a subway sign. Since nothing at all is left of the field, this could be real money. I'd put it in a real auction if you're selling, and let someone else deal with the shipping after the fans duke it out.

Not exactly the same, but might be worth looking at:

That's as close as you can get without it being exactly the same!
Any idea what it sold for (to get an idea what to start auction at)?
    Thank you evelyb30!!

    Thank you!
I guess I'm going to have to splice the insulation of the cord so I can plug it in & see if it lights up!

I'm not sure what voltage traffic signals use. YOu'd probably need to rewire the whole thing. Best to leave that to a buyer.

I'm not an electrician but if he can access the socket and it's labeling then that'll give him an idea, right? There are subreddits to ask actual electricians if it looks more daunting. I wouldn't touch actual electrical but a regular bulb socket shouldn't be bad I would think.

Nice item. I sell sports memorabilia on eBay, I'd list at $995.00 or best offer - and wouldn't accept an offer under $900 for the 1st month.

I started it as a auction/best offer (people can make an offer until someone places a bid) for $650
    Thanks!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I found your listing and put it on my watchlist (although not going to bid on it). Good luck!
