I sometimes have questions I need to ask about items on Eboo which attract my attention for one reason or another. On About 80% of those occasions I'm able to ask the seller a question in the text block provided at the Eboo link for questions. About 20% of the time this statement appears: "unfortunately this seller is unable to answer questions about the item." I can understand if seller speaks no English, for example, but Usually the seller is someone supposedly in the US, and usually I'm sure they are in the US. I mean, even when the seller states "please ask any questions about this item before you bid" you can't ask questions. Here's an example offering to supply a COA with the item. All I wanted to do was see a cy of the COA, but no questions allowed. 262777719677. So someone here must know what's going on, pls 'splain it to me!

I just tried it & got all the way to the question page without any problem.

Maybe just a momentary glitch?:confused:

No problem getting to asking a question here, but why would you even click on such a hokey item?

In my line of buying I see this often...but mostly when the seller is not above board.

Neat looking thing. I got right through to the ASQ page with no problem. It looks like a classic Ebay glitch.

Page I get when I hit ask a question button:

(Hmmm-just dawned on me that since some others can get to the asq page and I can't, and this seller insists on Poopal, there might be an automatic path to the "can't do it" page for non-Poopal members like me.)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I saw a post in the eBay community that indicated that lack of PayPal account may be one reason that some buyers can't contact some sellers -- as you guessed.

I found this workaround on a different site. If you still want to contact them, maybe try it?

That would work. A lot of European sales act with wire transfer. It might also be possible to do it through the Ebay UK site. Your US login works just fine.

I recognize the seller, has a pattern of listing highly questionable "Native" items for absurd prices: $20,000, $80,000......I guess just in the hope that someone will bid.....
I'm sure the COA would be good for a laugh.

I've encountered the "seller unable to respond" page frequently over the years, and I agree with all_fakes, that nearly always the seller seems to specialize in items that are significantly not as listed. And not in a good way.

Since I don't sell on line, I have always assumed that there was just something that the seller could check as an option, to assure that he/she didn't have to deal with answering questions. For obvious reasons. Maybe that's not the case, but I think the wise thing to do would be to just not buy from anyone who refuses contacts from potential buyers. It sure sends up red flag warnings, as far as I can see.

Tried it three different ways and they all worked

Did you perhaps ask a question before and get on his BBL?
