my husband would say the latter. I comb thrift stores, yard sales, etc., and buy what speaks to me. It could be a book, a hand thrown Bowl, some old lace or a painting. I’m a retired government worker, my husband, a retired librarian. We live in WV, home of Fenton, Blenko, and many lesser known Ohio Valley artists. I’m usually good at identifying pieces... but I have a couple that gave me stumped. Hoping for some assistance. I rarely re-sell my finds. I buy what I like.

I'd call it collecting and the mark looks like "MR" to me.

Welcome Loren! Nothing better than to buy things that talk to you, and many areas of interest multiply the chance to get a nice piece for.... THE HOARD!;):hilarious:

    Welcome to the forum Loren.
I'd call it buying nice things that appeal to you.:) And why not?
Eclectic is my favourite kind, btw, although I do have some specific collections as well. In fact, I think I now collect collections.

The mark looks like MR to me too.
