    Just to share...

Edo Period, Mid 19th Japanese Imari Sometsuke, stenciled blue porcelain plate with bulls eye base and unglazed foot, 8 1/4".

Japanese stenciled blue glazed wares go back earlier than 19th century, but the bulls eye base and unglazed foot were most common during the mid 19th century.

Thank you for the information! I did not know that that type of base was known as “bull’s eye.”

Lovely piece. I recently bought a Royal Worcester Japonisme jug and the style of your piece shows how Worcester was influenced by Japan. 4EBAB161-1F6A-4FEE-834B-F18734E631F3.jpeg
