    Hello Guys,

I recently found this sculpture which looks like it's made of clay. The design seems old to me, but the colours look really new. Also the state of the sculpture looks new to me. Is this sculpture old or is it just something recently made? It also has rolling balls in the head which represent eyeballs.. It is a modern Mexican pre-Columbian replica. Not sure if it is Mayan or Aztec but you should be able to pin it to one of those two cultures.

A modern take on Teotihuacan (Central Mexico) style. They often sell those little terracotta's when you visit the pyramids of San Juan de Teotihuacan.

It's new, and an ocarina/whistle, from Mexico. A souvenir item.

Or possibly one blows into the back of the head and the sound comes out below. Looks awkward for an ocarina, but that was my thought also. Try blowing, see what happens.....

Yes, you're probably right. Still a rather awkward sort of ocarina, but clearly making good music was not the main goal.
