Egyptian Queen Decorated Ball?

I found this in a goodwill, thought it was Chinese till I checked it out, I'm half blind, anyway, what I saw really surprised me. First off it is a ball but yet it is way off round, second it is wrapped in some kind of paper same scene twice on each side. While it is way off on being round it has a small round indention on the bottom that if you turn the figures upside down and let it go it goes back to right side up and rests on the little indention. Like those plastic punching bags that are weighted for it to stay upright. Got me and I don't want to mess it up by tearing it apart. Any help as to what it is would be greatly appreciated.
