Thrift store find today. she stands 6 1/4" tall and is carved out of wood. i can't make out much of the writing on the bottom I got Ekaw woman, M G ? Then woodcarver. Monona?? I think the bottom word is Burma? Hope to find any information on this and maybe someone here has seen this wood carvers work? Mikey
Edit - just looked again at your title. Sorry to duplicate the info already specified. Probably an Akha woman (also referred to as Kaw, or Akha-E-Kaw). The Akha are a hill people that live in China, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. https://www.green-trails.com/chiang-mai-hill-tribes/akha-hill-tribe/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_groups_in_Myanmar
After a 3rd or 4th look, I gotta say that face is a Portrait! I believe it represents a real individual. So authentic it gives me gooseflesh!
@Any Jewelry if you feel up to chiming in on this it would be appreciated! Saw ya looking, or liking lol.
