Elkington Silverplate Finger Bowls ? Date help, please.

Next in my "look what I found in the basement" saga, is a set of 6 lobed bowls that I guess are finger bowls. I looked on the silver site for the Elkington date mark, but I got confused as there are several dates for the letter U. I couldn't see the particular lozenge either. I know that silver plate is a give away these days, but I still like to know who and when. Also, these have a monogram in the centre.

 

Dimensions are 5" diameter and 2" tall.

It isn't throwaway back east, Toronto prices are high last time I looked.

 

Thanks, Bakersgma! I had seen that one, but I couldn't see the little indented corners on the cartouche on mine. But, that is it!

 

Wendy, if they're a give-away, then send 'em my way! Seriously, they're antique and attractive, by a quality maker, and there's a set of six (that nice initial could be either an 'M' or a 'W') - I believe they'd sell for a decent price...

Silverplate isn’t always worthless. If it’s by a good company, sometimes it doesn’t even have to be in good shape to be valuable. I’ve seen silver over copper pieces that might as well have been sold as copper, but they had a good provenance.

 

Dresser silver plate commands a high premium.
