Featured Emerald medical desk lamp with gold caduceus, I'm lost on it.

Looking for info on this lamp, I am having a hard time finding it. There are no markings on it and the stand is brass. There is no cord, but a spot where a cord should be coming out of at the base. Any information would be amazing.

 

Nice lamp...certainly older(others will know better than me on a specific age)...maybe from a hospital or medical school? Where did you get it?

 

Also is there lettering / monogram in the circled area?

 

Originally an oil lamp shade in this case. I wonder if reebootn's piece is a later electric version. @Reebootn - does it have a plug?

 

Thanks for all the quick responses! There is no plug unfortunately and as far as lettering in the design circled, it just looks like design patterns. This lamp came out of an auction, was lucky enough to grab it up. I checked out the link you provided I need help, thank you, pretty helpful.

 

Agreed, after seeing those photos It looks like the shade was probably put onto a a different base and used as electric. Thank you all, this was very helpful. I am impressed with this place!
