So following on my previous thread, these ones I'm certain are genuine ivory.

I'm keen to know if they are of a particular age and where from and by whom.

Again, I'm clueless as to any of this information so any help is greatly appreciated.

What makes you say that? Is there a tell-tale sign? Or is it because there are no markings?

I've just found a certificate of appraisal, for this piece and couple of others i've posted.

I'm not going to upload a picture of it , but this is what it says,

"All genuine hand carved ivory netsuke, signed by Meizav" or might be Meizau...?

    “Total value = $8,400"

The certificate is from 581 Fifth avenue Corp. and was dated 31st October 1984! I know I can't sell this now due to the new laws but I wonder if it would still be that valuable?

Not sure about ivory, but almost everything else has taken a big hit since the 1980s. Our furniture, for example is worth about 1/3 of what it was 30 years ago.

I think you will find the name to be Meizan.

Ahhh thank you. I was trying to find an alternative but nothing was coming up as auto correct. Cheers
