Hello everyone I am wondering how most people are informed of upcoming auctions and estate sales, I have been using the website https://www.estatesales.net/. How are all of you informed about them? Any suggestions? I get most of antiques at estate sales.

When I was still active, I also used estatesales.net, and also Craigslist.

I use auctionzip.com sometimes but their continuous pop-up reminding me to sign up for their newsletter is beyond annoying (I have already signed up for the newsletter but still get the pop ups on every 3rd page I click on).

A large majority of estate sales here in my town are run by a miserable old hag who salts the sales with a bunch of unsold crap from other sales and lets her pet dealers get all the choice stuff before the public gets a chance. If its a private sale,I'll go,otherwise,I skip them.

    That makes me crazy also!!!

I rely on the good old newspaper, plus Craig's List.

Around here it's usually the listings in Craig's List and County searches on the computer as I don't get the local news papers - nothing in them that I can't read online.

I get the majority of my items that I list from a local auction house, a local consignment shop & out of the hoard in my garage ;):p:D. If I do go to an estate sale it will most likely be on the afternoon of the last day when everything is at least 50% off. I have found some cool things that got passed by others because of the price or the lack of knowledge.

The transfer station Swap Shop is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. You can bet I am there all three days off season. On season I am selling at the local flea on Sundays so I have to skip it that day which is bad. Sunday is when anyone who didn't sell everything at their yard sale bring the extras to the Swap Shop :dead:

Today I scored a wooden folding plate rack, like the ones for drying dishes. It will be perfect to display dishes I have to sell :)
