Picked up at the flea-market today. Bought it from a friend.

    Chinese export-silver "Malacca" walking-stick. Late 1800s.

The head is somewhat battered, but the silver decorations are in beautiful condition.

While the head is silver, the shaft is made of rattan reed, or what was popularly called "Malacca" back in the 1800s - because that's where it grows - Malacca in the British Straits Settlements (modern-day Malaysia).

Considering that's where my ancestors are from, I had to buy it! :p
