Extremely heavy old cast iron mortar and pestle? Don't know. Mystery

    Found in basement. This thing is extremely heavy. It is about 6 1/2 X 7 inches. I really don't know what it is or what it was used for. Seems too heavy for mortar & pestle. It would have an extremely odd pestle. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? cast iron 1.png cast iron 2.png cast iron 3.png cast iron 4.png cast iron 5.png

    They were re made and used in the 1950s for the Early American look.
    My mom had one.
