another update on my vintage coral collection :p
Now I have Mediterranean coral, momo coral, aka coral, deep water coral, and white coral…

And branches! Noting that they are all jewelry ready to be worn, i.e. brooches and tie clip, not just loose stones. We have an aka coral branch here, which is the most precious coral and you can easily spot it here! The pale pink one is a rare pink momo, the first to be called angel skin coral.

here we have everything in my collection! I somehow forgot to include this hair pin in the vase… c88e7d0a197201be0987163fd04d1083.jpeg
I think this is an aka branch but a dead one, since it has a lot of defects, but still with that intense red color!

this is when Mediterranean coral and momo coral worn together! Can’t tell which color I prefer. I have always been a momo fan but these Mediterranean coral beads are sweet nonetheless! By the way, it’s only the half price of that momo necklace…

Those peaches and the chrysanthemum brooches are my favourites, but they are all beautiful in their coral-ness.

    If anyone interested…

Here is a comparison between momo coral and aka coral under 30x magnification. You can see there are fine lines of growth like your fingerprints on momo coral, but aka coral, in contrast will have almost non-visible lines. How fine is that! 626c066296417f729a263232f5a19a6b.jpeg 849750cdf351eee51b7e36a2bb3bda93.jpeg

Oh wow! Most of the vintage black coral beads I have seen are just smooth beads resembling Whitby jet. But yours has a special charm and ancient look… I see why it’s mistaken as fossil:wideyed:
