FACE VASE/PLANTER - WHO IS THE CHARACTER?

    I found this at a yard sale over the week end. At first I thouht iy was a ugly face jug, but then I saw it was a planter - and the face was a doctor.
    It is signed LAMBERTON...and then it looks like ENII? Maybe Lambert Onenii?
    And signed & dated 1973
    Can anyone tell me who the face is suppose to be? I looked up Dickens's character Lamberton but nothing came up.
    What is this? Nothing came up when I looked for Face Planter + the bottom looks like this sits/fits into a circular...something!
    Thanks, I appreciate any help.

    It's hard to see all of the letters from the angle of the photo but I think I see Lamberton Ent (so maybe enterprise?) then ©1973 Sch....

    Is it plaster?

    Is this also a signature?

    I will look if a signature. The artist name ends witz: Iy looks like Sch - some letter - witz
